In the Fall of 2021, Ellie started her first semester at the University of Florida as an undergraduate student pursuing degrees in music and biology. After joining Dr. Ding's natural product discovery research team in the Fall of 2022, Ellie swapped her biology degree for biochemistry. She is currently working on the biosynthesis of lactacystin, a compound produced by streptomyces lacticystinicus. With inspiration from her research, her musical background, and her biochemistry coursework, Ellie's professional goal is to work as a pharmacist.
